The faces of Aarhus - This series is made in Denmark at the DMJX. In this assignment we had to walk up to people and ask if it was okay to take a portrait of them. It tought me to be more proactive when I see beatifull people that I want to photograph.
These are portraits I took at a Masterclass by Frank Ruiter. Ruiter is very good at using natural light. He plays with light as if he sees the light ten times more intense than I do. He thaugt me how I can play with the light aswell.
For the project Counting Sheep I had the honor to take portraits of the makers. Besides taking 'normal' portraits I also played with the theme. Knowing that the theme of the exhibition is based on sleeping problems, I tought it would be fun to let the makers sleep on the equipment that they work with.
I made thes photos at the Masterclass by Anouk Boonstra. She is an insipration for me. Working with natural light is beatiful and something I tend to do in my work as well.
For a magazine about dreams I shot these photo's. I call this series "Night or Day". It's about emotions we feel every day, but every night aswell.
Self Portraits
"Tell something about yourself in three pictures"
I love playing chess, me sitting in front of the tv, I also take Analogue photos.
People on the street
Besides working with models and a well-thought-out plan, I challange myself to ask people on the street to be my model. This is a project that I recently started. I can be really good at making conversation with people, but asking them to pose for me can still be a challenge.
These guys caught my eyes immediately. I asked them to pose for me and they said yes! We walked to a nearby street where the light was better and the rest is history.
I also take photos of people without asking tem to pose.
